  • graffiti is anything scratched, painted, marked or drawn in any way on any property in the public
  • usually made with spray paint and markers, often made on public property
  • can be associated with movements of activism, culture jamming, propaganda
  • often associated with hip-hop, urban or street culture
  • graffiti culture gained popularity during the late 70s and began corssing over with hip hop culture in the early 80s
    • this marked the emergence of graffiti into pop culture
